The basics
Every RFID reader, door controller, biometric device, and handheld scanner in our platform is a networked, addressable device that reports events to the central system the moment they happen — that's the Internet of Things applied to a building: physical hardware, connected, reporting live data.
RFID card readers, door strike/lock controllers, RFID + fingerprint biometric units, QR/barcode scanners, queue-ticketing kiosks, and parking barrier-gate controllers are all networked devices reporting to the same backend.
No. Your team interacts with a card tap, a scan, or a portal screen — the device networking and reporting happen invisibly behind that.
Connectivity & reliability
They need local network connectivity to report events in real time, but each device keeps working and buffers events locally through a brief internet or network interruption, syncing automatically once connectivity returns.
Door access and attendance capture continue to function locally (see each product's own FAQ for its offline behavior); nothing is silently lost — buffered events sync once the device reconnects.
Yes. Device status, last-seen time, and health are visible from the admin dashboard, so IT or facilities staff can spot an offline reader or door controller before someone notices it in person.
Security
Yes, traffic between devices and the backend is encrypted in transit, and sensitive fields are encrypted at rest on the server side as well.
Most installs use existing network drops or Power-over-Ethernet to each device location; we assess your floor plan during onboarding and scope any additional cabling before installation, not after.
