Cards & fobs

Standard, widely available HID-compatible RFID cards and fobs — not a proprietary format, so replacement cards are easy to source and cards can often be reused from an existing access system.

Standard PVC RFID cards handle years of daily tapping and normal wallet/lanyard wear; damaged or delaminating cards are replaced same-day once reported to HR or an admin.

Yes — one card ID can be granted access across HR & OMS attendance, RFID door access, and Clinic Management check-in, depending on which modules your organization runs.

Readers & installation

Standard proximity readers read a card from a few centimeters up to roughly 5–10cm depending on the card and reader model — a deliberate tap, not a long-range scan, which avoids accidental cross-reads in crowded entrances.

One per entry direction is standard; high-traffic entrances sometimes get a second reader to avoid queuing. We size this during the site walkthrough.

Readers are typically powered from the same low-voltage run as the door controller/lock; our installers confirm exact wiring needs per door during the walkthrough.

Maintenance

Readers are largely maintenance-free; our support line handles anything that comes up (a reader that stops responding, a lock that sticks) as part of the ongoing support agreement.
